"I love my life. I love my life."

Kimberly, one of the women in my cohort, and I sit next to each other every class. Every once and a while I will hear her say, "I love my life, I love my life..."

She said this twice during one of our classes that is usually extremely interesting. Unfortunately, the latest class almost led to my death. We had a guest lecturer and the person was... Erm... Not my cup of tea.

The guest lecturer was a very bright person, but for some reason I could not get myself involved in her lecture. I was having the hardest time paying attention.

I quickly became extremely irritated. I kept sighing, clicking my tongue, etc., all the while convincing myself why I am paying THOUSANDS of dollars for this. (Since then I have rediscovered why I am paying for this, don't worry.)

While I was noticeably irritated, Kimberly kept looking at me and telling me that she loved her life. I laughed, because at the moment it was extremely funny, but now I think she might be onto something.

Pretty sure that's the approach I'm going to begin taking. So when you hear me say, "I love my life" in stressful situations, it is not me being sarcastic. It's me taking a page out of Kimberly's book and trying to be optimistic.

In all honesty, I do love my life. And I love the fact that this person was just a guest lecturer... Not a full time professor. Just saying.

  2. PS...you really SHOULD love your life! You are beautiful, smart, have a wonderful husband, get the opportunity to get a masters degree, you are healthy, and the list goes on and on and on! =)

  3. Hope that school's going well. Miss seeing you n Cal. Think we should have a cousin get together when you have some time (don't worry I know it might be awhile:). Like that you're being optimistic. My mantra was, "this is going to be worth it, this is going to be worth it, this had better be worth it!"
