Part of the conversation went like this:
Alex: Lizzy, you know how Mom is the nice one and Dad is the strict one?
Me: Yeah, I do buddy.
Alex: Well, I think that when you have kids, Cal's going to be the nice one and you're going to be the strict one.
*pause*
Alex: That's not a bad thing though. I mean, we love Dad even though he is strict. It's just that you're more like Dad than you are like Mom. I mean, you look like Mom, but you're more intense like Dad. And Cal is super nice like Mom.
Me: That's true, bud. You're right.
Haha. I hung up the phone with him about 5 minutes later and couldn't help but laugh. I love my family.
I probably will be the "mean" parent. That's not a bad thing though, right?

No way honey. My dad was the "mean one" but I have come to respect him so much more for that. How 'mean' can you be really anyways? ;)
ReplyDeleteDon't worry my little sister told me the same thing:) SOMEONE needs to make sure that the kids are being responsible!
