**I realize it is nearly 2011 and I am still blogging about Thanksgiving. Sad, I know. But such is life... And graduate school + working + thesis is killer. Just saying.**
CBF & I just love our Utes. Really.
We particularly love going to football games. We love singing the chants, doing the 3rd down jump, and most of all, singing the fight song. In fact, if it's being sung after a huge play and the stadium is just exploding, I may or may not get the goosebumps on occasion.
So, when my best friend of forever, Alexandra Jaques, flew into Las Vegas for American Thanksgiving, I had a mild panic attack. How was I supposed to see her, do ALL of my homework/papers/cases/clinic work, and see my beloved Utes take on the Team Down South on Saturday afternoon? It worked out wonderfully, and CBF & I had a long, wonderful, and joyous weekend.
Las Vegas was a blast. But let's be honest, how could anything with my best friend from high school AND with my husband be anything less than amazing?
We drove down to Last Vegas on Thursday afternoon and played all day Friday with Alex and her boyfriend Paul. We then left Las Vegas on Friday night at 11pm and boogied up to St. George. We stayed at the parent's house for the night (slash 5 hours...). We then pulled out around 6am to make it back to SLC for the game. (Pretty sure the same guard was on shift at Stone Cliff when we pulled up and then left again -- he thought we were mad.) Phew! We were dead tired.
(CBF, me, Alex, and Paul on the Strip.)
Oh boy, we are so glad we did not miss that game. The Utes won after a wonderful blocked kick, and we were forced to rush the field. Sitting on the fourth row of the MUSS (for free!) has it's major perks, but when it comes time to rush the field and 6,000 students behind you are pushing you down, those benefits come into question. I had a terrible experience back in '08 being pushed off and it ended in a concussion, so needless to say, I'm pretty cautious now.
We got some wonderful photos on the field. One of the Kruger brothers even hugged me after I said good game. (I think CBF got a little jealous... Just kidding! Although nothing compares to the Shaky story... Just kidding again - kind of.)

(On the field - CBF insisted on taking this photo:))

(CBF at center field. How handsome is my man?)
(Us together...)
All in all, it was a wonderful weekend and I am so thankful for SO many things. Particularly my husband... I love him times a million.
(Us at Mon Amie Gabi - sooo good)
P.S. I managed to rock my first semester of graduate school. A big shout out to CBF for being the best husband on the planet -- I couldn't have done with without him!
