Update on Alex P.

My lack of blogging is inexcusable - particularly after I posted about Alex's health scare. My apologies.

After Alex had the MRI done that showed the 1cm spot in his cerebellum, a follow-up MRI was done of his neck to ensure that his arteries looked a-okay.

Good news: His arteries are fine!
Bad news: They found out he has degenerative discs in his neck. These darn discs are in no way related to his spot - just an additional health concern he now has to take care of by seeing the physical therapist once/twice per week.

The other good news that resulted from this imaging was that my parents got to chat one-on-one with the radiologist. The radiologist said that they will for sure have Alex back in 3 months to be imaged again, but that the mass of Alex's spot didn't present as many other tumorous masses do. Sooo... everything is still up in the air, but we found some comfort in that!

Alex is a remarkable, bright, healthy, cute teenage boy, and we're confident that everything will be okay!

  1. What a relief!! Did you know my husband has degenerative discs in his back?? So sad & hard to deal with. He's 33 and has the back of a 63 yr old. :( We understand Alex's frustration! Prayers your way still. *hugs*
