Words of Wisdom

Last night CBF & I had dinner at my grandparent's house. It was seriously so much fun.

After dinner, CBF played games and talked with my grandmother. I spent time talking with my grandfather.

My grandparents are so incredibly wise, and I am so lucky to have them in my life. Here are some pieces of wisdom that came our way last night while spending time with them.

Nana told us to...
1. Never buy the most expensive home in a neighborhood
2. When looking at a home and getting a tour, if possible, walk around in your stocking feet. This will allow you to "feel" the floor and any possible problems (sloping, uneven stones, etc.)
3. If you think something is fishy about the house, dig for answers. Don't stop until you get them.

Clearly we were discussing buy homes with my grandma.

Papa told me to...
1. Change my last name :)
2. Not be frustrated that I'm not 100% sure what I want to specialize in. It's okay to take time in deciding something like this.
3. Plan, but do so cautiously. Not everything can be planned.
4. Take other things than just education into consideration (he wasn't saying that education isn't important, he just meant that it isn't the only factor to consider in life). He said that raising his kids with his wife, my grandma, was some of the most fun they ever had.
5. Evaluate how much having "Dr." in front of my last name (which ever last name I decide to use) means to me.
6. Be okay with the fact that school is hard. It's meant to be hard.
7. Live with no regrets. He said his biggest regret was messing up his knee. I sincerely hope & pray that my biggest regret is something like that.

(CBF & me with my wonderful paternal grandparents)

Like: Spending Sunday evenings with my husband and family, not doing homework.
Dislike: The chaos that currently taking over my life.
