The Trying is the Hardest Part

Liz and I have some great news to announce (and yes this is Callen writing this and no there is not a zombie apocalypse going on). Our news is that we are TRYING…that’s right we are trying to get a Chocolate Lab.

Oh wait I am sorry was that line misleading. It is true that Liz and I are looking for the pitter-patter of little feet, but we are looking for someone that has four feet. Actually four paws to be exact. As most of you know we have had the luxury of having Kola, the family dog in our lives full-time for the past year. Having this 85-pound of brown fur has convinced us that we want to have one just like him.
Mr. Kola Bear even walks himself.

If you have not already heard Liz and I will be leaving Utah in August as I pursue my MBA at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Since we are both leaving our families and we will have space in our new apartment (which is pet friendly) it is time for us to enter canine parenthood. I'm so happy we are not getting a cat, I could see myself writing the "Purrrfect" time to get a cat.

It is not easy trying to find a dog like Kola. First, he does come from Wales, second he has English manners, and last but not least, dogs like him are in high demand. After communication with two different breeders, it appears that we have found our puppy. He (not she) is will be an English purebred and is scheduled to be born on May 15 and will look something like this.

Faces that would even make Darth Vader go "Awwww."

We are very excited to be extending our family from two to well…two. I judge the size of families based on how I mark my taxes. Kidding of course this dog will be our child, which will include: potty training, obedience training and your typical puppy party activities.

As soon as we have any more details they will be up on the blog.
